Siparuna gesnerioides (KUNTH) A.D.C. belongs to the family Siparunaceae and to the genus Siparuna; several ethnobotanical references in Latin America are known for their anxiolytic, antioxidant, trypanocidal, antimicrobial, antitumor and antiophilic properties.
